The Library recently joined MIT’s Direct to Open program, and is excited to see this cross-library collaboration gain ground as MIT seeks to invigorate the publishing of academic open access ebooks. Through this initiative, the MIT Press will publish all of their scholarly and edited monographs as open access ebooks beginning in 2022 (~90 titles per year). In addition, the library will receive full access to the existing list of MIT Press ebooks (~2300 titles).
The collection will include both MIT Press’ STEAM Collection (STEM plus Art and Design) and the Humanities and Social Sciences Collection.
